Step 1: Prepare

Before using our sauna blanket, make sure you have everything you need.

Place the sauna blanket in a spacious and flat place (sofa, bed or on the floor), prepare a cushion or pillow, and connect the power cord. Do not use any surface that is too sensitive to heat.

TIP: If you want to maximize the detoxification of your body, use our ionic dry brush first. It is a technique that promotes soft and luminous skin, reduction of cellulite and improvement of blood circulation.

Step 2: Set the temperature and time

Choose the temperature, the session time you want and press the central button of the remote to turn it on.

Most people start with a temperature of around 70º C and a session of 30 minutes, but you can adjust it to your needs and preferences.

TIP: We recommend that you let it warm up for 10 minutes before going inside.

Step 3: Hydrate and get comfortable @

Before entering the sauna blanket, make sure you are comfortable and relaxed. Wear comfortable clothes (that cover your skin if you use a high temperature) and loosen up, and drink a glass of water to stay hydrated during the session.

TRICK: If you want to enjoy your session even more, use our ultra-absorbent towel, you can go without clothes and be much more comfortable!

Step 4: Get into the sauna blanket

Get into the sauna blanket and zip it up, making sure the blanket is in contact with the largest part of your body. Make sure your head is out of the blanket and you can breathe comfortably.

Tuck your arms inside the sauna blanket to maximize the benefits, if you get overwhelmed you can take them out whenever you want.

Step 5: Relax

During the session, relax and enjoy the sensation of heat that envelops your entire body. You can read a book, listen to music or just close your eyes and meditate.

Step 6: Clean it up and shower

Once you have finished your session, leave the sauna and unplug it. Use a towel to dry any sweat inside the sauna and be sure to drink more water to keep your body hydrated.

Now all you need to do is shower and you can start the day energized or just go to sleep if you used it at night!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does our infrared sauna blanket work?

Our sauna blanket produces infrared heat in the far spectrum, causing deep, purifying sweating.

It's the same effect as when you're in the sun, which is our best-known and most important source of infrared.

DO NOT confuse infrared radiation with ultraviolet radiation (UVA or UVB rays), since the latter are more harmful if you take them for a long time (they are what make you tan).

How does a conventional sauna differ from our infrared sauna blanket?

In both types of saunas the purpose is the same, to make our body sweat. The only difference is how they do it:

In Finnish saunas the user sits in a wooden cabin and the air is heated by electric heaters and water poured on stones.

Our sauna blanket uses infrared to heat the body from the inside out. This allows you to experience a more intense and prolonged sweating session at a lower temperature and in a more comfortable way .

How often and for how long should I use the sauna blanket?

The frequency of use of the sauna blanket depends on each person, there is no limit. Some customers use the blanket 3 times a week, while others use it daily.

The blanket is ideal for recovering after physical activity or relaxing before going to bed, but it can also be used first thing in the day for an energizing effect. Although we prefer 50 minute sessions, even a short session can be beneficial.

It is recommended to find the frequency and time that best suits each person's lifestyle and schedule.

How much does it cost to use our sauna blanket?

Using our sauna blanket is very cheap and economical.

The power of the blanket is 600 W. Therefore, at an electricity price of 22 euro cents per kWh, using the VitaliWave sauna blanket for an hour session will cost approximately 13 euro cents (0.13 euros per hour of use - 10 times less than a conventional sauna).

Using it five times a week will cost you less than 1 euro.

How long will it take to sweat?

The time it will take you to sweat in our sauna blanket may vary depending on factors such as the set temperature, the ambient temperature and your own sweating capacity.

In general, it is expected that you can start sweating after 15-20 minutes (set to 80°C).

It is important to remember that sweating is not the only indicator of an effective sauna blanket session, as you may also experience other benefits such as muscle relaxation and improved general well-being before you are breaking a sweat.

What does science say about saunas?

Helps you fall asleep earlier and get a higher quality rest

The sauna can help you sleep better because of how heat affects body temperature. After being in the sauna, the body cools down and produces melatonin, the hormone that induces sleep.

Spending time in the sauna before bed can help you relax both physically and mentally, which also contributes to easier sleep. One study concluded that the effect of warming up the body, even for as little as ten minutes, before bedtime, reduces the time to fall asleep by approximately 36%.

Reduces stress and anxiety by controlling cortisol levels

Spending time in a sauna can reduce the levels of cortisol in our body, also known as the stress hormone. Cortisol is released by our body during times of stress and excessive exposure to cortisol can lead to chronic health conditions.

The sauna can induce simple hormonal changes in the body, such as increasing oxygen-rich blood flow to the brain and helping to reduce cortisol levels.

In addition, the simple wellness routine of spending time in an infrared sauna can provide enough relaxation for users to enter a meditative state. close, which helps to focus the mind and eliminate sources of stress.

Looks perfect skin and eliminates acne

Proper use of saunas can help you achieve radiant skin and improve acne symptoms by clearing pores, balancing the skin's pH, and increasing collagen production.

In addition, relaxing time in the sauna can reduce stress, which is one of the main causes of acne. Blood circulation is also improved, which helps hydration and healing of the skin.

In summary, frequent sauna use can reduce acne breakouts and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Extends life expectancy and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease

A study in Finland followed 2,300 middle-aged people for 20 years. They were divided into three groups based on how often they used the sauna each week .

During the study, people who used the sauna more frequently were found to have a lower death rate from cardiovascular disease and stroke.

It was also found that people who went to the sauna 2-3 times a week and 4-7 times a week were less likely to die than those who only went once a week.

lower blood pressure

This study investigated the relationship between the frequency of sauna use and the risk of hypertension in middle-aged people without hypertension at baseline.

After a mean follow-up of 24.7 years, 251 incident cases (15.5%) of hypertension were recorded. Those who took between 4 and 7 sauna sessions per week had a 46% lower risk of hypertension compared to those who only took 1 session per week.

These findings suggest that regular frequency in sauna use may reduce the risk of hypertension, which could partly explain the cardiovascular benefits associated with sauna use (blood vessel dilation...).

Reduces the risk of dementia or Alzheimer's

A study conducted in Finland evaluated the association between repeated exposure to heat, such as that experienced in saunas, and the risk of developing dementia or Alzheimer's.

After a 39-year follow-up involving 13,994 men and women aged 30-69, 1,805 patients were diagnosed with dementia. The results showed that those who drew saunas 9-12 times per month had a reduced risk of dementia compared to those who took less than four saunas per month or no saunas at all.

Sauna could be a natural and effective way to reduce the risk of dementia and Alzheimer's disease in middle-aged people.

Strengthens your immune system and reduces the risk of catching a cold

A study found that taking a sauna frequently can boost your immune system and help reduce the risk of common colds. Over a six-month period, a group of volunteers who took sauna baths had significantly fewer episodes of colds compared to a group who did not use the sauna.

The study concluded that regular use of a sauna can reduce the incidence of common colds.

Relieves chronic pain

A study has shown that thermotherapy, like the effect of a sauna, can help reduce chronic pain.

Researchers compared a group of people using a treatment that included various rehabilitation therapies, with another that also added repeated thermal therapy to relieve chronic pain. The patients who received the heat therapy experienced a significant decrease in pain and more of them were able to return to their normal lives after the treatment compared to the other group.

These findings suggest that thermotherapy may be an effective tool for treating chronic pain. Therefore, the sauna can be a natural and promising option to reduce pain in patients with chronic pain.

Improves performance in runners

A study of six long-distance runners found that sauna use can improve athletic performance.

Over three weeks, a group underwent sauna sessions after their workouts, for about 31 minutes per session on 12.7 occasions. In those three weeks, the other runners did not undergo sauna sessions.

After the three weeks of sauna, the runners improved their running times and reduced feelings of exhaustion by 32% compared to the other group. Increased performance was associated with increased plasma volume and total blood volume.

In summary, sauna can improve athletic performance by expanding blood volume.

Improves performance in cyclists

In this study, seven well-trained cyclists were monitored for 35 consecutive days, including 10 days of sauna training.

Sauna use after normal training was found to increase plasma volume in the cyclists after only four sessions. In addition, a reduction in pulsations was observed on awakening after several sessions.

These findings suggest that taking a sauna after a workout may have performance benefits for cyclists by increasing plasma volume.
